A transparent wooden wall clock that disappears as much as it stands out

What strikes you first is the emptiness. The face of this transparent wooden wall clock doesn't fill the space, it runs through it. Between the outer ring of pale wood and the central hub, the wall stays visible, as if the clock were floating in front of it rather than resting against it. That's precisely what sets it apart.

The wood has a pronounced grain, with tonal variations between golden brown and warm beige. You can see it in the Arabic numerals, which are cut from solid wood and stand slightly proud of the surface, and in the outer ring, whose curved profile gives the piece real thickness. This isn't a thin veneer. The material has substance.

The hands follow the same logic. They echo the wood grain of the central hub, a solid disc that visually anchors the whole piece. The contrast between this solid centre and the open, pierced rim creates a balance that many solid-faced clocks simply lack. The eye is drawn to the centre, follows the ring round, then returns to the hands.

The numerals are spaced evenly around the inner edge of the ring, with enough gap between each that the emptiness itself becomes part of the design. Nothing is crowded. Nothing overruns. On a white or lightly textured wall, such as in a hallway or above a sideboard, the effect is airy without feeling flimsy.

The design comes in five styles, each with its own cut-out proportions and slightly different balance of solid and open space. The 30, 35 and 40 cm sizes let you calibrate its presence to the wall space you have. A 40 cm clock can hold an entire wall on its own. A 30 cm version tucks neatly into a corner or sits alongside other pieces without taking over.

If this size has you leaning towards something bolder in scale, our Large Wall Clocks selection features pieces that fill a space in a different way. And to explore natural materials further, our Wooden Wall Clocks collection brings together every model crafted from this material.

Five styles, one shared structure

The five variants of this pierced wooden clock share the same basic construction: an outer wooden ring, numerals cut from the solid, and a solid centre. What changes from one style to the next is how the cut-outs are handled and how the segments of the ring break or continue.

Depending on the style you choose, the balance between solid sections and openings varies noticeably. Some designs leave large open gaps between the numerals, while others draw the segments closer together for a look that's almost a continuous ring. This detail changes how the piece reads from several metres away.

It's a practical point worth considering before you order. In a spacious room viewed from a distance, a highly pierced design will be read as a whole, ring and gaps together. In a corridor or a narrower space, a design with more solid wood will be easier to make out. The three available sizes also affect this: the 40 cm version makes each cut-out more visible, while the 30 cm condenses the whole design into a more discreet format.

For anyone after a clock that suits both a pared-back scheme and a warmer setting, this model is part of our Modern Wall Clocks selection.
